Words of wisdom

Post some words of wisdom that speak to you.

Again one of those assignments where it isn’t hard to find them, but rather which one to choose from a wide variety of choices. And while I have a whole arsenal of words by wise people, today I’ll stick to Francis of Assisi, who had a lot of wise things to say, amongst which the following:

Start by doing what is necessary, then do what is possible and before you know it, you’re doing the impossible. – Francis of Assisi

When feeling overwhelmed and feeling like dropping all the balls I have in the air instead of maybe just one, this quote helps me to get my bearings again. I don’t have to do it all at once, I can start with doing what is necessary, and when I have that under control, I can add what is possible, until without realizing, I’m working on what at first seemed impossible.

Another good one on the topic of impossible, there’s also this one: “Nothing is impossible. The word itself says ‘I’m possible'”, by Audrey Hepburn.
